Gompf’s ID Pearls is best used as a study tool, along with a general textbook such as Mandell’s Principles and Practices of Infectious Diseases, and perhaps an excellent clinical review book such as Southwick’s Infectious Diseases in 30 Days.

Searching the text with the Search & Highlight feature:
The text may be searched for specific words or phrases. All instances of the word or phrase will be highlighted for you. When you enter a word or phrase in the Search box, you will be taken to a page that tells you either “Nothing found”, or shows you the first instance of highlighted text, with a link to “Continue reading” if you wish to see the entire document with highlighted results. Then scroll up and down the whole document to find all the highlights and read the associated text! Easy!
